County of Bruce - Rent Bank implemented August 2004
Eligibility criteria:
Must be a resident of Bruce County
Can help rent geared-to-income tenants that pay their own utilities experiencing threat of eviction and all private sector renters experiencing threat of eviction.
current rent must be affordable and households can demonstrate an ability to manage the rental amount
applicants must not qualify for other benefits (e.g. Community Start up)
gross income of approximately $25,000 for singles/couples and $40,000 for families
Application procedure: After application has been completed, it can be approved quickly, within one week.
Maximum loan provided: 2 months' rent and one time only.
Repayments: to the County of Bruce
