Description: Homelessness Prevention Program
The County of Dufferin Community Services Homelessness Prevention Program is intended to provide one-time assistance to individuals or families for the purposes of avoiding eviction or securing permanent housing.
Funding will be provided by the Ontario government’s Provincial Homelessness Initiatives Fund administered by the County of Dufferin. Dufferin Children’s Services staff will administer the program.
To be eligible for assistance under the Homelessness Prevention Program, applicants must reside in the County of Dufferin and meet specific financial and social need requirements. Generally, eligibility is determined by a financial needs test which compares assets and household income to the expenses and amount of assistance requested by the family.
