Description of Services: We administer a fund that uses a common application form to access funds from the Provincial Rent Bank, as well as the Provincial Emergency Energy Fund (EEF), and our own Emergency Heating Fund (EHF).
Eligibility Criteria: OW and ODSP clients may apply if their program-specific funds (i.e. CSUM) are exhausted. Low income-earners are eligible to apply for assistance. We may also consider others if there are 'exceptional circumstances' (fire, death of spouse, etc).
Loans: Recipients of assistance from the Fund are asked to enter into a repayment agreement to repay all or a partial amount. This may be put into place at a later date when recipients are more financially stable.
Maximum amount of loan: We abide by the Provincial Bank guidelines and offer maximum assistance from the Rent Bank equal to two months of rental arrears.
